Pickled eggs

Pickled eggs.

Do you want to try them? What if we TRIPLE DOG DARED you to try them? Make them, and then you can dare your friends to try them. JalapeƱos optional.

Fun fact: Beets and or beet juice will turn the eggs purpley pink. Do with that what you will.

There’s a pretty simple recipe here.

Sew a pickle

Maybe you like pickles, but you don’t like eating pickles. Did you know there was such a thing as a Christmas Pickle? We did not, and we also don’t know why someone (OLIVER) waited until February to bring it up.

Reportedly, it is a German tradition to hang a pickle ornament in the Christmas tree and the first kid to spot it gets an extra present. Now you know.

(Maybe mention this to your parentals and start an extra gift tradition!)

We, the League of Pickle Makers, think that anytime is the right time for a pickle decoration. You don’t have to celebrate Christmas OR wait until December. Present giving is optional. But if you’re good with a needle and thread like Bean is, this might be the project for you.

Directions HERE. If you make one (or any other epically decorative pickle), send us a pic at cat vs dude at gmail . com (without the spaces, obvs).

One way to see in the dark…

Can you talk your science teacher into trying this? We did, and it worked!

An important note: We did this with our science teacher because we didn’t want to get shocked. Burnt pickle smells much better than burnt Oliver.

Beat the heat with a frozen treat!

If it’s warm where you are, maybe you want a popsicle. Perhaps you even want a PICKLE POPSICLE. Who knows? Maybe it’s not so bad.

Maybe.

We’re not promising anything.

Fried dill pickles

I’m going to give it to you straight. This is the best pickle recipe that we’ve tried so far by a mile. I’m talking about fried dill pickles. They’re fried, crispy, salty, and you can eat them with dip. All pickles should be this tasty.

You can find the recipe we used and more pictures here.
